The SW Regional Transportation Planning Commission (RPC) announces the election of a Chair and two Vice Chairs at their January meeting. Bobby Lieb, Chris La May and Ernie Williams will begin their positions in January, 2012.
Bobby Lieb is a La Plata County Commissioner and replaces Greg Schulte, former Archuleta County Administrator who relocated to California.
Chris La May is the Town Manger of Bayfield and has served on the TPR for one and a half years, with one as Vice Chair. Ernest Williams, Dolores County Commissioner was reelected as Vice Chair, a position that he has served for eight years.
These officers will alternate representing the southwest region at monthly Statewide Transportation Accountability Committee (STAC) meetings in Denver. The officers also lead the (RPC) meetings held every other month.
The RPC is made up of one representative from each of the seventeen political jurisdictions of the Southwest Transportation Planning Region (TPR) that includes five counties, ten cities and towns and two Indian Tribes. This group meets to work on various transportation planning, project and funding issues affecting the region.
