The Four Corners Film Office (4CFO) is pleased to announce Lisa Schwantes as the organization’s new coordinator.
Schwantes will assist the 4CFO in its role as a liaison between production companies and the local community. Schwantes will also track the economic impact of the number of productions taking place in the area, the number of local jobs created and businesses utilized during productions.
Schwantes will continue the close working relationship with the Colorado Office of Television & Media State Film Commission and establish strong associations with other area film commissions, chambers, tourism offices and economic development groups in Colorado and the surrounding four corners states; New Mexico, Arizona and Utah.
“The 4CFO can play such an important role in boosting our local economy,” said Schwantes. “I’m looking forward to this new and exciting challenge of working in our local southwest area by way of a new industry; film production.”
Schwantes currently works with other area organizations including the La Plata Economic Development Alliance and Southwestern Colorado Area Health Education Center. She has a bachelor’s degree in communications and has worked for the Durango Chamber of Commerce, Citizens Health Advisory Council and the US Senate. Schwantes has been a resident of La Plata County for 26 years.
