The Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado is proud to announce that Anthony Porambo has joined Region 9 as a graduate intern.
As a recent Fort Lewis College graduate, Porambo has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an emphasis in business management and marketing. He is also a previous business owner of Chief on a Board, a local skateboard company that provided products to area retail stores including Boarding Haus and Concrete Sk8 Shop. As a full-time student, he developed the company while attending Fort Lewis College.
“I wanted to be able to provide a culturally representative product that promoted my tribal heritage, in accompanied with a healthier lifestyle of transportation,” Porambo said.
Porambo has participated in several business plan competitions including Hawk Tank, Global Battle Startup, sponsored by Google Entrepreneurs; and the Four Corners Startup business plan competition where he won 1st place. In 2016, Porambo won a 2nd place in the collegiate, American Indian Business Leaders (AIBL) national business plan competition.
“Anthony comes to us with a lot of business knowledge and professional skills,” said Laura Lewis Marchino, Region 9’s Executive Director. “We look forward to helping him further his professional career and providing every experience Team Nine can offer.”
